Delaware North appoints co-CEOs
Louis Jacobs and Jeremy Jacobs Jr. have been named as co-chief executive officers for Delaware North. This post has been held by their father, Jeremy Jacobs, since 1968.
Charlie Jacobs will become chief executive officer for Delaware North’s Boston Holdings. Delaware North’s Boston Holdings include TD Garden, New England Sports Network (NESN), the Boston Bruins and strategic real estate holdings.
Louis Jacobs, Jeremy Jacobs Jr. and Charlie Jacobs have all held senior executive positions as principals of Delaware North over the last several years and have been leading the company’s global strategy and platform for growth.
In addition, Charles E. Moran, president and chief operating officer of Delaware North, announced his desire to retire in December 2015.
The company's gaming division, headed by President E. Brian Hansberry, has successful gaming destinations in New York, Florida, West Virginia, Illinois, Arkansas, Arizona and Ohio. It is one of the most innovative gaming and racing operators in the country, specializing in racing venues with added amenities, including video gaming machines, table games, full-service restaurants, retail shops and lodging.
Among the company’s top casino properties are Southland Park Gaming & Racing in West Memphis, Ark., near Memphis, Tenn.; Jumer’s Casino & Hotel in Rock Island, Ill.; and Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack in West Virginia. Miami Valley Gaming, a joint venture with Churchill Downs Inc., opened in December 2013 in southwestern Ohio.
