Maryland Live! Casino announced key appointments to the executive management team, naming Philip Cheng as director of beverage operations; and the internal promotions of Victor Deaner to director of surveillance; Jennifer Dunigan to director of marketing; and Richard Chwang to director of international relationship marketing.
Philip Cheng joins Maryland Live! Casino as the new director of beverage operations, where he is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and operations of the property’s beverage department. With deep knowledge and experience in the hospitality industry, Mr. Cheng combines creativity with a concentration on guest retention; and increasing traffic and revenue through collaboration with the Maryland Live! marketing team. Mr. Cheng started his casino career in 2007 at Caesars Atlantic City before moving to Foxwoods Casino Resort in 2013, where he is credited for creating a high end wine list, drink menu and mixology development as director of beverage.
Victor Deaner brings nearly 20 years of casino experience to his new role as director of surveillance. Since joining Maryland Live! in March 2013, Mr. Deaner has elevated the department’s quality and quantity of work with a leadership style that has significantly reduced turnover and improved employees’ engagement in day-to-day operations. With this promotion, Mr. Deaner takes on an expanded role in the surveillance department, while becoming more involved in enhancing the operations throughout the casino, providing valuable input, information and advice from a surveillance perspective.
Jennifer Dunigan takes on the role of director of marketing at Maryland Live!, where she will oversee all aspects of special events, promotions, entertainment and production, as well as Asian and Hispanic marketing. Ms. Dunigan previously served as special events manager for the property since 2013. She has 20 years of management experience across the hospitality industry that has equipped her with the skills and know-how to oversee every step of the event life cycle, from inception of concept to financial projections, through execution and post analysis. In her new role, Ms. Dunigan will continue to cultivate customer loyalty, drive bottom line gaming revenue and contribute to the overall success of the company.
Richard Chwang has been promoted to director of international relationship marketing at Maryland Live!, where he previously served as an International VIP Host for the property since opening in 2012. Prior to joining the Live! team, Mr. Chwang worked in South Florida and parts of Wisconsin, where he gained his knowledge and experience in the gaming hospitality industry. In his expanded role, Mr. Chwang will develop and implement new programs to grow the property’s Asian customer base; and build strong relationships with new and existing international customers.
