Special guests and VIPs experienced exhilarating views and unrivaled luxury during the Dec. 3 grand opening of the new Drum Room, an exquisitely appointed new lounge perched on the 26th story of the Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa.

“Morongo’s new Drum Room is a remarkable and breathtakingly beautiful new gathering space with rich, dark woods and light-colored leathers set against floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views of the nearby San Gorgonio and San Jacinto mountains,” said Morongo Chief Operating Officer John James. “Every detail of the Drum Room has been meticulously designed and the results are spectacular.”

The Drum Room is designed by the renowned Kenneth Ussenko, whose vision has guided the ambiance of 14 restaurants in the U.S. and Qatar.

“The interior design, custom furniture and lighting of the new Drum Room celebrates the fabled iconic spirit of drums and the elegance of this ancient tribal commodity,” Ussenko said. “We were thrilled to work with Morongo to create this luxurious backdrop for many future celebrations to come.”

Over a dozen large chandeliers create a canopy of light soaring above the main room with rich walnut accents blanketing the walls and columns along with the bar-back centerpiece. Brilliant red agate gemstone slabs cast an ambient glow along the cladded columns and under the bar die.  Custom seating and tables populate the room over the luxurious patterned floors.  The iconic drums are exhibited along the walls and as the centerpiece of the bar.

Unveiled on Dec. 3, the Drum Room’s grand opening for specially-invited resort VIPs and local dignitaries blended craft cocktails, sumptuous hors d'oeuvres and flights of effortlessly smooth international whiskey, tequila and vodka. The room was opened later that evening to all resort guests to explore.

“The Drum Room is distinctive and dramatic, elegant and exciting,” said Tribal Chairman Robert Martin. “We couldn’t be more thrilled with the results and we’re sure this unforgettable space will create unforgettable memories for all who spend time here.”

The Drum Room will host a spectacular New Year’s Eve Party on Dec. 31st with Perrier-Jouet champagne, entertainment and surprises. Tickets are currently available on Ticketmaster.

The Drum Room will periodically host select gatherings, from special spirit and wine tastings to intimate musical performances and dinners. The Drum Room will also be available for bookings through the Morongo Sales Office for weddings, parties and corporate and community receptions.

“The Drum Room is unlike anyplace else and we’re delighted at Morongo to once again be exceeding the expectations for our guests by bringing them a unique experience where they can practically touch the clouds near the top of our tower while wrapped in a luxurious setting,” James said.
