By any measure, the recently held ICE Totally Gaming tradeshow and conference at the ExCeL in London was a smash success.

According to press materials provided by show sponsor Clarion Events, ICE Totally Gaming attracting more than 30,200 attendees, up 5.7 percent from 2016 figures and setting a new attendance record. It is the sixth consecutive year of growth for the event.

“While these are outline figures and are subject to independent audit, we are confident that they represent an accurate snap shot of the three days of intense business, networking and learning which took place at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre [last] month,” said Kate Chambers, managing director of the gaming division at Clarion Events. “The upward trend has coincided with our 2013 relocation to London Docklands: in fact, the ICE attendance is now 42 percent higher than that recorded for the last edition held at Earls Court.”

As impressive as these attendance figures were, the list of companies and products that were showcased on the trade show floor of ICE was equally outstanding.. Here is a recap of new slot highlights from major land-based casino suppliers, in their own words:


Aristocrat TechnologiesAristocrat Technologies showed an intense “passion for gaming” at ICE 2017 as it unveiled key highlights of its new slot game portfolio for the EMEA region.

Lightning Link was given more support for gaming floor expansion in EMEA with six new varied themes sporting three different base game mechanics. Also new to the market, a mid-denomination version of Lightning Link especially designed for VIP areas.

Arc Double titles Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead 2, Britney Spears and Buffalo Grand have also started to establish a firm foothold in a number of European markets and South Africa, with more approvals coming on stream and two more popular themes being added to the portfolio in Elvira—Mistress of the Dark and The Big Bang Theory Jackpot Multiverse. At ICE 2017, Aristocrat also expanded its range of licensed formats with Zorro and Sharknado being released on the Arc Single platform, both packed with a broad variety of features and proven mechanics for extended entertainment value.

Konami Concerto CollectionThis year marked the ICE premiere of Konami’s expanded Concerto Collection of core slot machines with new cabinets, technology, and never-before-seen game themes. ICE guests from around the globe were given first-hand access to Konami’s latest releases with a variety of new slot offerings including Concerto Slant, Concerto SeleXion multi-game, Concerto Stack single screen, and Concerto Crescent single curved screen. Konami’s KP3+ game library attracted strong support for a rich offering of base games, standalone progressives, and linked progressives available to international markets now and through the coming year.

For the first time, Concerto Slant arrived at ICE 2017, equipped with proven signature elements of Konami’s top-performing Concerto cabinet. Consistent to the original upright machine, Concerto Slant carries dual 27-inch HD game screens, but with a lower profile and relaxed-angle posture for player comfort and convenience. Concerto Slant supports any game content found on Concerto upright and is also backward compatible with proven KP3platform titles such as Dragon’s Law, Lotus Land, China Shores and many more.

This year’s ICE show marks the debut of Konami’s first single screen Concerto machines: the curved Concerto Crescent and the tall Concerto Stack. Both feature a stunning 43-inch high-definition vertical display, with signature Concerto highlights such as the unique side lighting element, sleek black finish, and digital topper options. 

Dragon Fury is among the original new debut themes that Konami displayed on Concerto Crescent and Concerto Stack during ICE.


IGTInternational Game Technology PLC (IGT) presented a vast portfolio of gaming solutions for its gaming, lottery, interactive and betting customers from around the world at ICE Totally Gaming 2017. IGT’s theme, “Innovation at Play” represented a comprehensive portfolio of solutions for every regulated gaming segment and channel.

Anchored in innovative hardware and a deep content pipeline, IGT’s ICE Core portfolio will included new multi-game, video and mechanical reel solutions.

Building on the success of IGT’s diversity game bundles, the company will debuted diversity HD 3, diversity HD 4 and diversity HD 5 game suites at ICE. Housed on the AXXIS 23/23 cabinet, the diversity 3, 4 and 5 game suites are each comprised of a dozen of IGT’s top-performing titles such as Coyote Moon, Kitty Glitter, Ocean Magic, Golden Egypt and Mystical Mermaid games.

IGT’s stand featured a number of innovations that leverage emerging technologies to create new player experiences and spark interest from a broad demographic of players. IGT’s SPHINX 4D game made its international debut at ICE. The game offered a multi-sensory experience that enhances its glasses-free 3D technology with mid-air haptic and gesture-based technologies, which enable players to touch and manipulate 3D objects emerging from the screen.

The company displayed advancements in the skill-based segment by highlighting additions such as the Race Ace Arcade game to its Skillcade product portfolio.


NOVOMATICThe NOVOMATIC stand increased to 4,700 square meters this year at ICE to make way for an even wider selection of products, including those from new additions to the group.

Ainsworth Game Technology exhibited for the first time on NOVOMATIC’s ICE stand, presenting the new A600 cabinet line and debuted the A640 for the first time on the global stage. Visitors got their hands on a selection of new content such as Rumble Rumble Bear, licensed titles King Kong City and Three Amigos Ride Again, as well as several linked progressives. Another newcomer to the NOVOMATIC stand was Otium that demoed a range of market-leading video bingo products.

International highlights of NOVOMATIC Gaming Industries included a presentation of the full suite of V.I.P. cabinets—NOVOSTARV.I.P. Royal, NOVOSTAR V.I.P. II, NOVOSTAR V.I.P. III and V.I.P. Lounge—that showed how very important player experiences can be created in gaming venues of all sizes. After making a sneak preview last year, the GAMINATOR Scorpion made a standout display at ICE and showed a multitude of content across all NOVOMATIC platforms and game mixes, such as the brand new Jackpot Edition compendium that made its international debut at the show.


Scientific Games Corporation showcased the industry’s broadest international product portfolio designed to empower customers with the world’s best gaming and lottery experiences at ICE Totally Gaming.

Scientific Games featured its newest slot platforms and a host of game content to empower engagement and excitement across the casino floor. The TwinStar dual-screen cabinet is a stunning platform for Bally and WMS games. Incorporating the next-generation ArgOS operating system, TwinStar features high-speed processing and video capabilities, along with features such as a larger iDeck multi-touch button deck; two 24-inch HD displays; a 22-inch full HD digital topper; premium sound; and game-synchronized edge lighting.

The company highlighted engaging content for TwinStar, including its Lock It Link near-area progressive titles Lock It Link Diamonds and Lock It Link Night Life.

Another ICE reveal was the Dualos platform, a dual 23-inch HD screen cabinet with superior sound, OLED digital buttons, integrated ambient lighting, and an18.5-inch digital topper. The cabinet comes with a rich game library of titles from Scientific Games’ leading brands Bally, Shuffle Master and WMS.
