Resorts World Las Vegas (RWLV) recenlty announced the appointment of Edward Farrell as president of RWLV. As the project's first president, Farrell will oversee all development activity on the Las Vegas Strip site and prepare the world-class, integrated resort for operations in 2020.

Farrell has worked in the casino industry for more than 30 years, beginning his career at MGM Reno while attending the University of Nevada, Reno. He has held a variety of leadership positions in finance and operations and has worked in Nevada, Mississippi, Connecticut and the New York markets both in commercial and Native American operations. Prior to joining Resorts World, Farrell was senior vice president of finance for Foxwoods and MGM in Connecticut and was regional vice president of finance for the mid-south region of Harrah's Entertainment.

"As the shareholder of RWLV, we have full confidence in Ed's ability to lead a well-organized team of highly qualified professionals to collectively shepherd RWLV through development and into successful operation," said Tan Kong Han, president and COO of Genting Berhad. "After careful consideration of the Las Vegas market and perfecting our planned, cutting-edge resort design and amenities, we look forward to RWLV commencing full construction by the third quarter of 2017 under Ed's leadership."

"Resorts World Las Vegas presents a unique opportunity to bring the Genting Group's experience in developing and operating Asia's leading integrated resorts to the United States, offering visitors to Las Vegas a new and compelling reason to stay on the north end of the Strip," said Farrell. "I am grateful to KT Lim, the chairman of the Genting Group, for placing his faith in me to execute his vision and deliver a once-in-a-lifetime project that Las Vegas and Nevada can be extraordinarily proud of."
