To better define collective efforts, the AGA is released a first-of-its kind, comprehensive industry responsibility report.
"While many of you release CSR reports annually, we are one of the first industries in the country to collectively do this, and the results are impressive:

  •  Our employees contribute nearly five times more volunteer hours per person than the tech industry, for a grand total of more than 422,000 hours per year;
  • AGA members give generously to support community causes, reporting more than $367 million in charitable giving last year alone; and
  • We outpace most private sector industries in our commitment to instituting green building and water conservation programs, diverting more than 100,000 tons of waste away from landfills last year.

This report reflects input from AGA members, so we know it only begins to scratch the surface of the economic and social impact of the industry’s responsibility efforts. But we are proud to begin a more proactive effort of telling this story and look forward to adding to the many significant metrics and impressive stories included in this first report," said Sara Slane, senior vice president of public affairs for the AGA.
