Caesars Entertainment will host the North American qualifier of one of the largest of e-arcade sports competitions when it welcomes Japanese company TAITO and their TOUSHINSAI-VEGAS qualifier competition to The Wall eSports Gaming Lounge in the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas this month. This will be the first time TAITO will hold a qualifying competition in North America, which will be open to global competitors according to a press release.

“Caesars Entertainment is excited to host TOUSHINSAI competitors from around the globe,” said John Linss, vice president of strategic investment initiatives for Caesars Entertainment. “Our company has long fostered the rapidly growing e-sports industry throughout our resorts, and we are happy to be collaborating with TAITO to bring their e-arcade sports qualifier to North America for the first time.”

This tournament will be a three-on-three single elimination in Street Fighter V (Type Arcade from Capcom). It will be live streamed around the world and in other Caesars e-sports venues such as at the LINQ Hotel + Experience. The winning team will receive a trip to Tokyo and automatic entry into the next TOUSHINSAI in Japan in 2020.

“Caesars and The Wall have been great partners in providing a unique venue opportunity for our first qualifier in North America,” said Tetsu Yamada, president and representative director for Taito.

As the largest of e-arcade sports competitions, TOUSHINSAI has been held in Japan by TAITO, creator of the iconic Space Invaders phenomenon, since 2015. More than 6,000 players from all over the world competed at the highest level during the recent 2018-2019 event.
