The New Jersey site is run by Hillside (New Jersey) LLC, part of the bet365 group, which the site footer says is regulated under DGE Transactional Waiver #477-50. New players get two offers in one package. Deposit at least $10 to the casino and tick the Claim box for a 100% bonus up to $1,000. Real money online casino by state

There is no federal online casino license in the US. Each state decides for itself, and as of October 2026 real money online casinos are live in seven states: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia, Connecticut, Delaware and Rhode Island. In each of them you must be 21 or older and physically inside the state, which the casino checks with geolocation. Where you live does not matter; where you are when you play does.

The table below shows the regulator, minimum age and helpline in each state, and which of the casinos in our toplist are live there. Every brand in our ranking appears on the regulator’s own list for the states we name. In New Jersey, for example, the Division of Gaming Enforcement publishes a list of permitted internet gaming sites.

New Jersey has had online casinos since November 2013. Pennsylvania followed in July 2019, West Virginia in 2020, Michigan on January 22, 2021, Connecticut on October 19, 2021 and Rhode Island on March 1, 2024. Delaware runs its online casinos through the Delaware Lottery, with the three casinos in the state as hosts.

The number of brands differs a lot per state. New Jersey and Pennsylvania have the widest choice, with more than 20 online casino brands each on the regulator’s list. Michigan’s casinos all run through the three Detroit casinos or a Michigan tribe, and each license holder may partner with one platform. Connecticut has two online casinos, run with the state’s two tribes, while Delaware and Rhode Island each run a state online casino.

States without real money online casinos

Outside these seven states, no state licenses real money online casinos yet. In most of the country, the closest option is a sweepstakes casino: a free-to-play social casino where Sweeps Coins won through play can be redeemed for prizes where the operator allows it. Sweepstakes casinos follow their own rules, and several states have passed laws against them, including California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Montana, Indiana, Maine, Tennessee and Louisiana. Maine is the next state to watch. LD 1164, which gives the four Wabanaki Nations exclusive rights to run online casinos, became law on January 11, 2026 as Public Law ch. 538. How playthrough works
